I tried growing these anemones several times before. I’d buy the packages of about 25 bulbs, plant them in the fall, and every year the same result – NOTHING. I tried again last fall and was encouraged this spring when some foliage actually sprouted. The result, however, is only one single flower blooming this summer. So here is the picture of that one lonely anemone in my yard. A mass of these in blue and white would have been really nice.

Though no special planting instructions ever came with these bulbs, I did find a web site a couple of days ago that stated that the tubers need to be soaked in water for a couple of hours before planting and that they should be planted in spring in my hardiness zone. Maybe I’ll give it one more shot.
